Aussie Strikes in Lightning
We were right on target for our subscribers for the Lightning Stakes at Flemington. Here's what we had to say about our top selection Nicconi before the event -
"Nicconi is resuming from a spell today and he does race best when 'fresh'. He's won first up on three previous occasions. Trainer David Hayes says that he's never had Nicconi better prepared for a first up tilt than he has today. After Nicconi charged home to win the Group 3 WFA McEwen Stakes first up last time in work the comment was made by a stable insider that the horse was "the best galloper to ever come out of Lindsay Park". That's a big wrap indeed and the horse can live up to the big opinion by taking out the Lightning Stakes today. Look for him to be getting home hard out wide late in the race."
Nicconi did fly home late out wide to score at the value odds of $6.10.

Here's To Here De Angels
Aussieraces.com subscribers had yet another winning day at the Caulfield races on Saturday when a couple of our selections won, with the highlight being the Rubiton Stakes winner Here De Angels. We rated Here De Angels as the clear cut $4.00 favourite for his race, and he came home well to win at the big value odds of $7.00.

Bart - My Life
This is a great summer read in the words of the master trainer himself. It tells about the early days, his training methods ("I learnt everything I know about training from my father"), his opinions on his 12 Cup winners ("Red Handed had a club foot, a paralysed ear and a head like a violin case") his philosophies on life ("A day of fishing adds a day to your life") and much more. Highly recommended.
