Super mare Black Caviar ($1.05) has had little more than a track gallop to take out the $500,000 Group 1 Goodwood Handicap at Morphettville.
We advised our followers to use margin betting and back Black Caviar at odds of $11.00 to win by a margin of 0 - 1.9 lengths - based on her past winning margins and the fact that connections were keen to give the champ an easy a run as possible before she headed to Royal Ascot to take on the best in the world at her next assignment.
We were spot on with our advice with Black Caviar ambling to the line untouched by jockey Luke Nolen to score by 1 1/4 lengths. After the event trainer Peter Moody jokingly commented "I told Luke if he hit her I would hit him".
It was a memorable day for the 30,000 who flocked to Morphettville to witness the champ win - and also for our followers - after all, you don't often get 10/1 odds about a horse going for its 21st win in succession.
Get On Black Caviar In Goodwood at $11 Champion mare Black Caviar is at the super skinny odds of $1.04 to win the Goodwood Handicap in Adelaide this Saturday.
The Peter Moody trained galloper looks a 'good thing' to chalk up her 21st win in succession.
One way to get on the mare at good odds is to wager on her winning margin.
Iasbet have put up the following market -
Winning Margin - 0.0 - 1.9 lens $11.00 2.0 - 3.9 lens $3.50 4.0 - 5.9 lens $2.30 6 lens & Over $3.50 Not To Win $17.00
The mare has won only 2 of her 20 starts to date by margins of 6 lengths or more so the $3.50 on offer doesn't look to be value. Of course she could have won more races by big spaces but trainer Peter Moody and jockey Luke Nolen don't like to knock their valuable property around and are happy to see her win comfortably without pushing her right out to the line.
The super mare has won 4 races to date by margins of under 2 lengths so the $11.00 on offer about that result would appear to represent value.
Its certainly one way to get on a 'good thing' and collect a good dividend.
