Next Aussieraces.com Race Day: Saturday, July 31st
Overlay Winners Outsiders have caused a number of upsets recently but Aussieraces identified some of them as big value overlays. Soul Diva sailed home late to win at Caulfield (Rated $21.00 Won $52.10) whilst at Canterbury it was Aromatic (Rated $10.00 Won $26.40). Aromatic was also our Hot Spot pick - or in other words the runner that we forecast would get the 'run of the race' which she did before scoring a soft win.

Coming Soon Riders tend to be categorized along the lines of they're either a top jockey or average jockey etc. Sometimes ratings are given to jockeys to reflect their levels of expertise. However, what if there was a way that you could measure the actual amount of improvement a horse was likely to make when a new jockey went aboard e.g. if a horse ridden by an inexperienced apprentice had top hoop Nash Rawiller aboard at it's next run - how many lengths improvement would the horse be likely to make? This information would be pure 'gold' wouldn't it? We've worked out a way to predict just this and Aussieraces.com subscribers will be the first to know all about it.
100/1 Plunge Early last Saturday afternoon a horse called Streetfighter. caught our eye in the form guide. It was a dual acceptor at Moonee Valley and Randwick. If the horse's connections had gone to the trouble of entering it in both states they must have been confident that it was ready to perform well. Also, the trainer T.Mathrick had booked top jockeys for the rides - Craig Williams at Moonee Valley and Nash Rawiller at Randwick - further evidence that the horse was ready to run well. A stayer, Streetfighter was resuming from a spell. However, he had won a race first up in the past - in fact by 8 lengths. The decision was made to start Streetfighter at Moonee Valley. IASbet listed Streetfighter at odds of 100/1. All the pieces looked to be in place for a betting plunge and sure enough it came with the horse being supported in from 100/1 to start at 20/1. We got on at odds of 50/1 when we realized that the horse was set to run a big race. In the run, Craig Williams had Streetfighter perfectly placed in the box seat, and with 100 metres to go he loomed up to the leader Bonindi and looked a sure fire winner. However, over the final 30 metres lack of recent racing told and Streetfighter went under by a margin of just a short head - much to the relief of bookmakers.
