Flying Tessie
This highly promising mare drew wide, covered ground racing wide in the run and then was forced even wider on the track in the home straight by another runner yet still finished with a 'wet sail'  to take third place at Caulfield at her last start. That was the highest rating run of her career and it shows that she is racing right at her peak at present. Flying Tessie is racing third up today, so its worth remembering that when racing third up last time in work she scored a sensational last to first win over today's track and distance.

Dao Dao
This well traveled galloper drifted back to last in the run and then came home solidly along the inside to finish second behind a potential champion in Typhoon Tracy in the Group 1 WFA Futurity Stakes at Caulfield last start. That effort takes on even more merit when you consider that they recorded one of the fastest times ever for the Caulfield metric mile. Their time of 1.34.43 was just a 'tick'  outside the course record. Dao Dao's run just petered out before the finish at Caulfield which was not surprising as he was racing second up and was jumping sharply in distance from 1200 to 1600 metres on that occasion. He will strip a much fitter galloper for this race.

Denman
There are a lot of people who say that this potential champion can get knocked over today but its hard to deny his super record. He's won 9 of his past 10 starts and each of those wins was by a good margin - no horse got closer than three quarters of a length to him at the finish in any of those victories. At his latest outing at Caulfield Denman got away tardily, was hunted up to lead, accelerated away from his rivals in the home straight and was actually being eased down well before the finish. Being a Group 1 winner, Denman has a class edge over all of his rivals in this race (None of his rivals have won at Group 1 level). He's also clearly the best weighted runner in the event.

This proven weight for age performer put in an eye catching run in the St. George Stakes at his last start. After drawing wide, Heart Of Dreams had to 'use a bit of petrol' early to get a forward position. Heart Of Dreams loomed up to win the race at the 100 metre mark but didn't quite go on at the end of it as his early effort and lack of fitness told. That second up hit out will have brought the horse to his peak for today's race. He's racing third up today.
