Miss Lily Rose
This promising mare really let down well late to come right away over the final stages to score by over 3 lengths at Flemington at her latest outing. That event has proven to be an extremely strong form race - the horses which finished 3rd (Tinamou), 4th (Only He Knows) and 5th (Have A Shot) behind Miss Lily Rose on that occasion have all since come out and won races in the city. Miss Lily Rose carried 50.5 kilos to victory at Flemington and rises only half a kilo here so it certainly won't be the weight that stops her from scoring back to back wins today. In fact, she's the best weighted runner in the race.

Princess Narine
This Mick Price trained 3 year old filly put in a solid effort at Caulfield at her last start when she sat up on the pace in a fast run race and just kept fighting on to the line to finish a close third. That was only Princess Narine's second run back from a spell so with the benefit of that hit out she will line up a fitter filly today. Princess Narine is drawn to get a good run on the speed today. The Price stable have a bit of an opinion of this filly and she is bred to be more than handy being a half sister to the Listed grade winners Climatic and Precious Lorraine.

Madibagold
This is an excellent race to invest on because 6 of the 10 runners raced against each other last start so its relatively easy to line them up. The only problem is that they finished in a bunch last start  and there's obviously not much between them - so luck in running will play an important role for the winner here. Our top rated runner is Madibagold. Although it wasn't mentioned in the stewards report, Madibagold was held up for a run early in the home straight before getting home well late to finish a close up fourth at Rosehill at his last start. That event was run on a dead rated track but today's heavy surface will suit Madibagold better. Like most of the Johannesburg breed, Madibagold races best in the wet - he has a 50% strike rate in the conditions (3 from 6). With Sydney's top apprentice aboard in Tommy Berry Madibagold can give us a good sight at good value odds today.
